Inspiration Collection #1: Japanese LOLITA

Photos via Google images/Pinterest

Ruffles, bows, hair accessories, pastels, printed tights. stuffed toys, lace & knee high socks!!!  I love it!  I am so fascinated by the Japanese lolita style. I guess I just love the idea of dressing up like a doll! This cute and elegant lolita style is worn by teens and young adults in Japan. It is an homage to costumes and the Victorian era as they try to embody porcelain dolls. It represents fantasy, nostalgia and individuality. Pictured above are Gothic Lolita and Sweet Lolita styles.  What do you think about Lolita style?  Too cute or too extreme??

Designer Stare: Betsey Johnson

Betsey Johnson is one of my all time favorite designers! She's so brillant and unique.  Her Spring 2012 Ready To Wear collection is full of sheer florals, prints, studs, corsets, bubble skirts, hot pants, metallics and shimmer!  This collection screams flirty va va voom...revealing legs, tummy and shoulders!  Her inspiration for this collection came from burlesque shows.  I would wear all of these pieces.  I love Betsey Johnson because she is truly devoted to making clothes that make women look and feel flirty, sexy and always stylish with a twist!

Don't forget to visit Betsey Johnson stores on Black Friday for 40% off your entire purchase!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Show Stopping Nails: Sinful Colors Review

From November 19, 2011
From November 19, 2011

(From Left to Right: Paris, Love Nails, Pearl Harbor, Nail Junkie, Adventure Island, Vacation Time)

I recently discovered Sinful Colors Professional nail polish and I fell in love!  The colors come in a wide variety with fun names and the best part....each bottle is only $1.99 (that's practically a steal!) The colors last for about a week (if applied with a buffer, base and top coat).  I usually apply 2 coats and I'm good to go.  The polishes are very smooth and apply easily, not streaky.  Another plus is that the polishes are toluene, formaldehyde and DBP FREE (these ingredients are said to cause cancer and allergic reactions).  You can find Sinful Colors at most drugstores i.e., Walgreen's, CVS and Rite Aid.  The second picture is basically just my trusty buffer and Sally Hansen No Chip Top Coat.  I just started my collection but I plan to get plenty more fun and festive colors!  So jump on the Sinful Colors bandwagon....they're Ahhh-mazing (and healthy, too)! What's your favorite polish?

Obsession With Kim Kardashian Style (Get The Look for Less!)

Although Kim K is not a fave celeb of mine, I must admit that I do love her style.  I would closely identify my fashion sense with Kim's style.  I also love how she embraces her curves and looks amazing in whatever she wears.  I wanted to do a post featuring some of my favorite looks of Kim and end with a look that you can do for less! In the look for less photo, Kim is wearing an over-sized Jahanaara fur vest which costs $1, 605!  She also has on a white Gold Hawk blouse, Citizens of Humanity jeans, a navy Rag and Bone fedora, a cuff bracelet by Yves Saint Laurent and her signature Hermes bag.  The looks in my collage mimic her head to toe look for $600 (less than half the price of her Jahanaara vest)! Check out the individual pieces. I splurged a little on the Juicy Couture faux fur ($280) and the Jessica Simpson knee high boots ($200).  However, I found an awesome look alike cuff bracelet, satchel and blouse for under $130. This look in perfect for fall! What celeb style do you admire?

Designer Stare: Meadham Kirchhoff

When I discovered Meadham Kirchhoff's S2012 Collection, I fell in love.  London designers, Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchoff, design for the real and individualistically aware woman.  They said..."A real girl is...not defined by feminine frippery, though she may occasionally indulge in it." Their collections feature feminine frills, ruffles, lace, faux fur, colorful tights and sheer knee highs, baby doll patterns and child-like embroideries. John Soane and Courtney Love are Meadham Kirchhoff's design heroes.  Their designs scream retro baby doll meet theatrical costumes>>>> this makes me happy! I am in loOove and would absolutely rock their ware.  I read that the audience literally left in tears, and I see why!  Meadham Kirchhoff is Ahh-mazing! What do you think about Meadham Kirchhoff's S2012 Collection??

Fall Rocks: How To Sizzle This Season

Fall Rocks!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons, so I decided to make a collage (via Polyvore) featuring the trends I will be rocking this season.  If you can't tell, I love tribal wear. Maybe it's partially due to the fact that I am part Native American, but I am obsessed with native style.  So I'm going to be donning fringe, turquoise, mocassins, prints etc.  I'm also really big into 80s/90s wear (velvet, one-shoulder dresses, high-waisted pants/skirts, off the shoulder tops and...side ponytails lol!) Another trend that I'm lovin: funky nails.  I love Japanese nail art, so I will be posting pics of my own version soon.  And lastly, even though chocolates, burgundies, grays, and blacks are prominent fall colors, I love rockin a bright lip and bronzed face!  Oh, and JC Lita's are a must-have this fall too!! (I've got my eye on this one.)
