ALICE + OLIVIA Lolita Look

Try the lolita makeup look
Rock a smokey eye or thick, black eyeliner...
...and dark burgundy lips.

The ultimate party dress
Sequins, leather and fur!
Love love love the leather shorts with the knee high stockings
The print and structure of this dress is breathtaking.
Luxe + Casual wear in monochromatic tones
The sweater and skirt are must-haves and are great separates to mix n match
This dress and lace gloves scream MEEE!
Brocade dresses speak for themselves.  So timeless and elegant!

Because I am a self proclaimed vixen and I love lolita inspired looks, I fell in love with Stacey Bendet's Alice + Olivia 2012 collection at NYFW.  Her collection is filled with leather, fur, sequins, bouclé, jacquard embroidery, brocades and prints.  The inspiration for the look was said to be reminiscent of a 'Lolita attending a dinner party'.  Stacey describes it best, “This season she’s a sexy, rebellious Lolita-inspired vixen who can also play the charming innocent schoolgirl.”  Which look is your fave??

MARCHESA red lace

Front Row at MARCHESA NYFW 2012: Petra Nemcova, Bar Rafaeli, Stacey Keibler, Adeperi Oduye, Jenna Tatum (Channing Tatum's wife), Taylor Momsen

Marchesa designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig created beautifully unique gowns at New York Fashion Week 2012 at The Plaza Hotel. Although all of their gowns were stunning, Marchesa's RED LACE was most memorable.  I can't wait to see more celebs in this red hot look!  Pair with natural makeup, pale pink lips and a bold, gold shimmery eye for a sultry appeal.  Stun in MARCHESA red lace!

ORIGINAL LOLITA/Rosie Perez

Bizarre Couple: Rosie and Tupac

White Men Can't Jump (1992)

Rosie in Lackawanna Blues (2005)
Rosie playing a rogue cop in Pineapple Express (2008)

She was even in a few episodes of The Cleveland Show (far right)
Andy Cohen and Rosie on Watch What Happens Live!

Rosie is just one of those original lolitas that I love and admire!  She exudes such charm, sass, spunk and extraordinary talent.  She's such a versatile actress and from New York City (Brooklyn to be specific)!  My love for Rosie stemmed from movies and shows like In Living Color, Do the Right Thing, White Men Can't Jump and recently Pineapple Express and The Cleveland Show.  If you haven't seen a Rosie film, Do The Right Thing and White Men Can't Jump are classics and a must-see!  Who is an original lolita to you?
